How It Started

Green Tree Jewelry was born out of necessity. Lance Nybye Jr., founder and designer, was running a baseball bat company that wasn't making it. Facing the prospect of bankruptcy, Lance and his wife Autumn went back to basics — selling at farmers markets and craft shows in Southern California.

At a farmers market in Ocean Beach, CA, they brought some wooden earrings almost as an afterthought. They sold out. That was the seed.

The real turning point came at their first trade show — the Las Vegas Gift and Souvenir Show. The first day was slow. The second day, worse. So they started handing earrings to passersby just to get feedback. By the end of the show, they'd covered costs and walked away with a notebook full of ideas that would reshape the entire product line.

What We Make

Green Tree Jewelry designs and manufactures lightweight, eco-friendly wood and bamboo jewelry from our facility in San Diego, CA. Our product line includes wood earrings, bracelets, necklaces, steampunk jewelry, ornaments, puzzles, and home décor — all made in the USA.

Our earrings use a multi-layer wood construction that gives them exceptional strength despite their featherlight feel. All of our wood is sourced from FSC-certified suppliers, and our earring findings are hypoallergenic stainless steel — great for sensitive ears.

We also offer full-color printing on wood, custom designs, and over 30 water-based dye colors. The back of every full-color earring stays natural wood — and doubles as an essential oil diffuser.
